# Check a launch

> What to look at before you buy.

## What it is

A short list of what to read on a token page before you buy. The page shows what the chain says, so you can decide with the same facts as everyone else.

## When to use it

Use it before any buy, and most of all in the first minutes of a launch.

## Step by step

**1. Read the preset**

It tells you how long the opening rules last. See [Launch rules and presets](https://docs.pariprotocol.xyz/protocol/presets.md).

**2. Look at Linked wallets**

A wallet funded by the creator is a warning sign. A common source can also be an exchange. The section appears only when wallets look connected.

**3. Check the dev's locked buy**

See its size and when it unlocks, in Fees and locks.

**4. Check the liquidity lock**

There is no pool before migration, so nothing is locked yet except the dev's launch buy.

**5. Read the opening fee**

While the fee is high, a buy can cost much more than it looks.

**6. Open Verify**

Open [Verify](https://pariprotocol.xyz/verify) to check the rules against the chain.

## Numbers and limits

| Fee falls from 99% to 1% in | 30 s | 30 s | 3 min |
| Max wallet applies for | 60 s | 2 min | 5 min |
| Dev buy unlocks, at the latest | 24 hours | 24 hours | 7 days |

The dev buy also unlocks at migration, if that comes first.
