# Liquidity lock

> All liquidity is locked for good at migration, and how to check it yourself.

## What it is

When a token reaches the end of its bonding curve, it migrates to a Meteora DAMM v2 pool. At migration, all of the liquidity is locked for good.

* The locked positions belong to the Pari program, not to the creator.
* There is no withdrawable liquidity position and no way to unlock it. Not the creator, not Pari.

## When it applies

From migration onward. Until a token migrates there is no pool yet, so nothing is locked yet. Only the dev's launch buy is locked, in a program vault, until the preset's unlock time.

## Step by step

The site does not ask you to take its word for the lock.

**1. Open the token page**

It shows the share of liquidity that is locked, read from the chain.

**2. Open Verify**

The [Verify](https://pariprotocol.xyz/verify) page reads the program authorities and the locks directly from the chain, in your browser, and compares them with what the API says.

**3. Read the result**

If the API and the chain disagree, you see a warning, not a green check mark.

## Numbers and limits

| | |
| - | - |
| Market cap at the first trade | About US\$ 6k |
| Market cap at migration | About US\$ 45k |
| Liquidity locked at migration | 100% |
| Share of supply that goes to the pool | 20% |

## What can go wrong

> [accordion] The page says the value is unknown
>
> The value could not be read. The page never shows a number it does not have.

> [accordion] The lock does not protect the price
>
> The lock means nobody can pull the liquidity. The price can still fall to zero.

> [accordion] The pool fee can change
>
> The lock does not fix the pool fee. A DAMM v2 pool operator can change a pool's fee later, up to 10%.
